Dear All,

As we approach the Easter weekend in the third week of the national Coronavirus ‘lockdown’, I thought I would post an updated message to Guild members via the CDG website.

At this time of year, I should have been writing the annual Master’s report for the Guild AGM, however along with all ringing activities, the annual meeting scheduled for April has had to be postponed due to the Coronavirus outbreak.
I am sure many of you will be frustrated that ringing activities have been stopped during this health crisis, however for me, this is a small sacrifice to pay for the wellbeing of our family members and our local communities.
Many of you will have concerns for your own health and for the wellbeing of your families and friends during this difficult time; I hope that ‘towers’ are maintaining contact with their members and providing the mutual support needed, especially for those who are in the most vulnerable categories or for those who feel isolated at this time.
If you are indeed suffering from the effects of the virus then I hope that you are getting the medical support that you need to make a quick and complete recovery.  I firmly believe we can emerge strongly from this current situation but, in order to do so, we need to follow the national guidance.

I wish to offer my personal thanks to all the key workers across the nation who are having to put themselves at risk during this difficult time.  I am conscious that many of our own Guild members may be in key worker roles and if so, I hope you are all able to stay safe.

Take care of yourselves, your families and your fellow ringers during this challenging time.

Kind regards,

Graham Jenkins
(Guild Master)
